Fuji Way Traffic Numbers

The HOA has communicated to all Applewood Estates homeowners that Richland Police Department conducted two radar traffic surveys during the past two years on Fuji Way. The first was completed in 2010 and the second was done this year. The 2010 survey counted a total of 5,055 vehicles in a 7 day period and the 2012 survey counted 9,095 vehicles in a 5 day period.
The HOA had some confusion about the numbers until recently. We have learned that the trailer measures speed and number of vehicles traveling in both directions, but only displays the speed of oncoming traffic. The results of the surveys are listed below.

The results show a 30% increase in the number of vehicles traveling Fuji Way every day and 42% increase in the number of vehicles traveling above the legal speed of 25mph.
This is of great concern to the Board members and we are pursuing several potential courses of action all of them in the early stages of understanding the benefits and pitfalls of each.
