Homeowners Accept Settlement Agreement

Prior to the membership meeting, an executive board session was called to order and by a 4 to 1 margin vote agreed to recommend to the homeowners in accepting the settlement being offered by the City/Wolff regarding the LUPA lawsuit.
The special membership meeting of the Applewood Estates Homeowners Association (AEHA) membership was held at Bethel Church in Richland where the board provided an overview of the legal actions associated with this case and the details of a pending settlement offer between the parties.
The settlement offer included a one-time cash payment of $125,000. The board recommended that this monetary and land condition settlement offer be accepted. The HOAs have been give full say in the land conditions for the remaining 15 acres.
A motion was made from the floor and a ballot vote took place. The vote results indicated that of the fifty-three (53) votes, fifty-one (51) votes were in favor of accepting the settlement, with two (2) opposed. Considering the thirty-three (33) proxies, this represents a 97% approval for acceptance of the settlement offer.
