KID Service Interruption – Division IV Main Canal
Posted on Aug 31st, 2009
The Kennewick Irrigation District’s Division IV Canal was shut down at approximately 8:30 a.m. due to a seepage problem found across the siphon located within Zintel Canyon in Canyon Lakes Golf Course. The Division IV Canal begins at the Amon Wasteway and runs east all the way to Finley. Approximately 4,700 customers will be affected (this includes 23 different pressurized service areas).
It will take approximately four to five hours to drain the canal and siphon. The District will then fully inspect the siphon and make a determination of what repairs are required.
The Zintel Canyon Siphon begins at the 9th Tee and ends along the east side of the 2nd Fairway.
The water that would normally run down the Division IV canal is being diverted down the Amon Wasteway above Five Corners.
Please check the status of the repair and view a map of the affected area on KID’s web site: www.kid.org, or call Customer Service at 586-9111. Thank you.
