WATER FORCAST – PRORATIONING AT 71 PERCENT

April 9, 2010 - [Kennewick, WA] - The Bureau of Reclamation (Bureau) has updated the prorationing percentage for all junior water right holders in the Yakima River Basin and is now forecast to be 71 percent of their normal water supply. The Kennewick Irrigation District (KID) is a junior water rights holder.

KID is asking all rural and urban customers to water on an odd and even basis to help alleviate pressure problems and to ensure everyone receives adequate water availability. It is very important that neighborhoods work together by working out a watering plan to alleviate these potential low pressure problems. The KID is available to assist, please call our customer service department for more information.

KID is also asking all agricultural customers not to use more than their daily water allotment when ordering water. Excess water will not be available.
