Annual Meeting Highlights
Posted on Feb 9th, 2019

The annual meeting last Wednesday night was a success!  Our HOA sets the bar high for all other area HOAs and the board would like to thank all our homeowners for their hard work in keeping Applewood Estates the best it can be.  You can access the PDF PowerPoint presentation by clicking on Meeting Minutes or you can request a copy by email.  Below are some highlights:

  • Member Directory - Don't forget to sign up in the directory so the HOA has an emergency contact for you.
  • Upcoming Dates - Community Sale will be May 18th and the Community BBQ will be Sept. 14th.
  • Home Value Report - Applewood home values increase $16,798 in one year for an average selling price of $379,725. Great curb appeal everyone!
  • New Board Members - We now have a full board with the addition of Delicia Olsen (506 Rome Ct.) and Destry Henderson (1366 Fuji Way).  Thank you for volunteering to serve your community!
  • ACC Report - The committee approved 30 projects (up 8 from last year) while decreasing the number of yellow soft cards to 36 (down 51 from last year).  There is also a new and improved Project Approval Form and you can get a copy by clicking on Documents or request one by email.
  • 2019 Annual Dues - The annual dues were approved at $110.00 which is the lowest in the Tri-Cities!  Your official assessments will be mailed soon.
  • Improvement Project Plans - Three improvement projects were discussed/approved.
      • The former Keene Road Improvement Project was continued for further bids and funding options.
      • The former Westcliffe Blvd Rock Sign Improvement Project will continue and be completed in 2019.
      • A new Shockley Road Improvement Project was approved by the homeowners with a price tag of $5,000. There will be no special assessment for this project.
  •  New ACC Painting Guideline - The HOA defined "earth tone" as flat colors. No gloss or high sheen will be allowed.  Darker colors will be considered, but no jewel-tone, pastel or metallic colors will be allowed. Some existing home colors may not be approved for repainting.  Homeowners will now be required to paint a 4'x4' area adjacent to a strip of trim before approval.  You may access the new painting guideline by clicking Documents and it will be under Board of Director Guidelines.

Thank you all for a successful 2018.
