Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detectors
Posted on Aug 22nd, 2018
The Applewood Estates Community is now 16-years-old and you would never guess it by looking at our homes. Curb appeal really does make a difference!
However, this means most of our smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are also this old. If you have a smoke alarm that is beeping currently and need assistance with replacing the batteries, for the quickest response, please call Non-Emergency Dispatch at 509-628-0333.
Smoke Alarm Tips - Most fatal fires occur at night so taking the time to replace the batteries in your smoke alarm is one of the best ways to alert those in your household should a fire occur.
- Don’t paint over smoke alarms
- Practice family fire drills so everyone knows what to do if the smoke alarm goes off
- Regularly vacuum or dust smoke alarms to keep them working properly
- Replace batteries in all smoke alarms twice a year (when you change your clocks for daylight savings time)
- Replace smoke alarms every 10 years
- Test smoke alarms monthly
