Over Watering - Water User Information
Posted on Aug 22nd, 2018
During our recent curb appeal check of the community, we discovered that many homes are watering too much. In fact, the HOA noted that several homes had soggy front yards and 1" to 2" of standing water in several rock beds.
Too much water clogs up pore spaces and damages grass root systems by depriving them of oxygen. When KID is turned off, these lawns and plants who had their root systems compromised during over watering are the first to struggle or die.
More important, with the recent notice of mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus in the area of Applewood Estates, it is very important we don't over water or leave standing water in our rock beds for them to lay their eggs, hatch and bite!
