Land Use Change - Keene/Shockley
Posted on Sep 15th, 2016

The HOA was recently made aware of a nearby land use change by notification from the City. The land is located on the north west corner of Keene and Shockley Road. It appears that the owner is asking the City to change 21.5 acres from low density (family homes) to high density (apartments).

The board has drafted a letter of opposition that will be sent to the City tomorrow.  We would encourage all homeowners to write their own letter or email so your voice can be heard if you are for or against the change. Homeowners only have until 5:00 pm, this coming Monday.

Applewood HOA has been down this road before with land changes and proposed apartments. However, this is different. The City has made notification and there will be a scheduled hearing for public comment if the City makes a recommendation for approval to the Planning Commission.
