Notice - Satellite Dishes & Antennas
Posted on May 3rd, 2016
The HOA has a covenant regarding satellite dishes and antennas. We continue to educate our homeowners on the process of approval to install one through the newsletter and other media outreach methods. However, there has been little compliance and the number of dishes continue to increase along with homeowner complaints. In 2013, the HOA drafted a board policy to define the covenant and protect the homeowners rights under federal, state and local laws. In doing so, it was discovered that Applewood exploded from having 12 homes with a dish to 80 and some homes have more than one dish.
The HOA has the responsibility of maintaining the aesthetic and architectural character of the community development. It has no other choice but to enforce the CC&R until future technology makes them smaller or nonexistent. Homeowners who are in violation of the covenant will be sent a letter to relocate their dishes. This was not an easy decision but one that needs to be done to protect all homeowners who chose to purchase and live in adevelopment with covenants.
If you receive such a letter, please contact your provider and have the satellite dish relocated to comply with the covenant and policy. You can access the CC&Rs and Policy on our website under "Documents" or by clicking HERE. If you have a dish without an approval form on file and do not use the service, please consider having it removed. This will eliminate the number of dishes in Applewood.
I can speak for the board by telling you all thank you for your cooperation in this matter and making Applewood Estates the best it can be.
