The Kennewick Irrigation District's daily water supply is limited by how much water they are allowed to take from the Yakima River.  Scheduling allows homeowners to maximize equitable use of the limited water and we appreciate your cooperation in following the past schedule.
Applewood homeowners can now water on your three assigned A.M. or P.M. blocks, as scheduled by the last digit of your street address (house number).  Watering up to 20 minutes per zone, station or sprinkler.  The A.M. block is midnight to noon and the P.M. block is noon to midnight.
KID will allow the use of high efficiency drip or micro-spray systems, or use of hand watering or sprinkler attached to a hose to water backyard vegetable gardens, perennials, and newly seeded or sodded lawns outside of the scheduled times.

3 - Monday, Wednesday, Friday A.M.
4 - Sunday, Wednesday, Friday P.M.

7 - Monday, Wednesday, Saturday A.M.
8 - Monday, Thursday, Saturday A.M.
9 - Monday, Wednesday, Saturday P.M.
0 - Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday P.M

The above schedule was designed by KID using statistical data, analyzed to balance customer water usage and facilitate equitable distribution to all customers.  Please keep to this schedule as KID will continued enforcement and will remain in effect until further notice.  You may also access this schedule at our website and Facebook page.

 

The lawn at our home has actually done every well with only watering two times per week.  It appears our grass roots are longer and stronger.  We have taken the time to spot watered and put 16-16-16 Lawn and Garden fertilizer on our lawn two times and it looks great.  Better that past years!
