CRIME PREVENTION -- It is that time of the year when the weather warms up and our garages get hot inside. Don't let this heat leave you in the cold! Criminals do drive around late at night looking for theft opportunities. Did you know that someone can squeeze under a door that is open only 7 inches? Plus, garage doors have a rubber seal at the bottom that give an extra inch of clearance!
A majority of our burglaries and thefts in Applewood Estates occur in the summer and come from open garage doors. Please help everyone out by making our neighborhood a "hard" target and keep garage doors closed and look out for your neighbors in the event they have forgotten to close their door at night.
Richland Police have also reported to the HOA there has been an increase in vehicle prowls in the area. A majority of these prowls were due to unlocked car doors. Please report any suspicious people walking around late at night and lock your car doors if they are parked outside of your garage. Together we can make a big difference!
