Fence & Block Wall Policy
Posted on Jun 17th, 2013

Your homeowners association (HOA) has been planning for the future by recently developing and officially adopting several polices of the board.  Having consistent and sound policies improves operations efficiency and saves time in making fair and consistent decisions to maintain the look and feel we all desire for our neighborhood.  Homeowners can view each policy by visiting the website under “documents”.  However, the HOA would like to highlight and share those policies that effect homeowners directly.  Since we recently completed the south block wall along Westcliffe Boulevard, we felt sharing our fence and block wall policy was important.  Click HERE to read the policy.

Our motto of “Good Fences Make Good Neighbors” is important to the HOA as they play an important role in our community development’s curb appeal.  We appreciate everyone’s effort in keeping their fence or block wall looking good but there also are important guidelines homeowners should follow if they share a fence with a neighbor.  The policy covers such topics as:
  • HOA covenants, conditions and restrictions (CC&Rs)
  • Differences between interior and perimeter fences and block walls
  • Good neighborly etiquette
  • Considerations when fence or block wall is visible from the front street
  • Guidelines to maintain stability and longevity
  • Sample photos of non compliance and damage to fences and block walls

If you have any questions, feel free to contact your HOA board members or any member of the Architectural Committee at any time.

Respectfully,

Applewood Estates Homeowners Association
